Hydraulic Rental Equipment Testing & Inspection Procedures

Rental equipment tested before it goes back to work

CH Bull tests hydraulic equipment after it returns from a rental and before it is placed back into the rental fleet. Our goal is to identify potential equipment issues in our shop, not on your jobsite.

Hydraulic Rental Equipment Testing & Inspection

How We Test Hydraulic Rental Equipment

Before equipment returns to rental service, CH Bull tests each component based on its operating requirements.

Our testing procedures include:

  • Hydraulic pumps: Flow tested to verify operation and output
  • Hydraulic hoses: Tested to 10,000 PSI and inspected for leaks
  • Hydraulic manifolds: Tested to 10,000 PSI to verify integrity and operation
  • Hydraulic cylinders: Tested at maximum rated load through the full stroke

Why Full-Stroke Testing Matters

A hydraulic cylinder may perform normally at the beginning of its stroke but develop leakage or other issues as it travels farther. That’s why CH Bull tests cylinders under their maximum rated load throughout the full stroke, helping identify potential problems before the equipment returns to the field.

In-House Testing Up to 600 Tons

CH Bull’s South San Francisco facility is equipped to load-test hydraulic cylinders at capacities up to 600 tons.

200-Ton Test Press

Used for load testing hydraulic cylinders up to its rated capacity.

600-Ton Test Press

Provides in-house testing capability for larger, high-capacity hydraulic cylinders.

This testing capability supports rental equipment used for demanding applications including bridge jacking, structural lifting, machinery moving, pile testing, and other heavy-lifting projects.
