Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers
Custom Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers
CH Bull provides gasketed plate heat exchangers engineered to meet specific application requirements. These versatile, cost-effective systems provide reliable heat transfer across applications ranging from food and pharmaceutical processing to electronics manufacturing and power generation.

Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger Details
Modern gasketed plate heat exchangers use herringbone- or chevron-patterned plates to improve heat transfer while supporting reliable, high-performance operation.
Design & Performance
The patterned plates increase turbulence throughout the heat exchanger, which helps improve heat transfer, prevent plugging and clogging, and maintain a consistent pressure drop.
Thousands of contact points allow these units to achieve high pressure ratings using very thin plate material, with operation from near-full vacuum up to 500+ PSI.
Common Applications
Gasketed plate heat exchangers are used across a broad range of applications, including:
- Food & beverage processing
- Pharmaceutical production
- Ultra-pure water applications
- Electronics manufacturing
- Traditional and renewable energy
- High-pressure applications
Sizing & Customization
CH Bull can develop gasketed plate heat exchangers based on your heat transfer, installation and space requirements.
Systems can range from 20 plates to 400 or more.
Material options include stainless steel, titanium, Hastelloy, and other standard and specialty metals and alloys.
When Standard Materials Aren’t Enough
CH Bull can also help identify specialized materials when standard options cannot meet the demands of an application.
Highly Corrosive Acid-Water Solution
A customer needed to regulate an acid-water solution that degraded stainless steel plates in days and standard Hastelloy in less than a year. CH Bull sourced a special Hastelloy alloy that can last up to ten years in the highly corrosive environment.
High-Purity Deionized Water
A customer working with high-purity deionized water discovered that standard materials were leaching ions into the water. CH Bull worked with the customer to identify a special grade of titanium for the gasketed plate heat exchanger.
